to travel is an opportunity

Day 9 & 10: Musical Charm of Salzburg
Who’s a fan of Sound of Music here? I am! Visiting Salzburg was one of the highlights of this trip (I know, I have a lot of highlights :D). To be able to visit some of the scene locations of Sound of Music was exciting. For our morning tour, our local guide brought us to the Mirabell garden, pointed out the Mozart's House and educate us to some area's in the city.

This is the Mirabell garden where the von Trapp children sang "Do-Re-Mi" in the movie.

The tour continues....

We explored the Old City, admired the baroque architecture, visited cathedrals, the Residenz, and Mozartplatz, all while learning history from our great local guide. Salzburg city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right. It is the famous composer’s residence and birthplace, Mozart.

Here is Michael giving us the mozart's chocolate ball at Alter Markt.

After the morning tour, we went to eat lunch and explored the city by ourselves:)

A delicious lunch and a yummy dessert. Perfect combination.

Attended a great concert performed by these two. It was held at the place where Mozart first played his composition when he was just 7 years old.

Fortress Hohensalzburg

Because I was amazed by these cute doors and the colors and the beauty...It was another long but very rewarding day.
Picture perfect opportunity!
